You can now file reports of discrimination based on race or sex to the U.S. Department of Education.

According to a press release by the U.S. Department of Education, it has launched a portal called EndDEI.Ed.Gov, which parents, students, teachers, and community members can use to report incidents of “illegal discriminatory practices” at K-12 schools funded by the government. The form requires an email address, the name of the school and district, and a description of the incident. The aim is to ensure that “students have access to meaningful learning free of divisive ideologies and indoctrination.”

“For years, parents have been begging schools to focus on teaching their kids practical skills like reading, writing, and math instead of pushing critical theory, rogue sex education and divisive ideologies—but their concerns have been brushed off, mocked, or shut down entirely,” said Tiffany Justice, co-founder of Moms for Liberty in a news release. “Parents, now is the time that you share the receipts of the betrayal that has happened in our public schools. This webpage demonstrates that President Trump’s Department of Education is putting power back in the hands of parents.”

This decision by the U.S. Department of Education represents the direction of the current White House administration. Following President Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, 2025, he signed an executive order to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, offices, and programs. The Trump administration also released a memo that set a two-week ultimatum for schools and universities to stop considering “racial preferences” in admissions, financial aid, or hiring, as AFROTECH™ previously reported.

According to National Education Association President Becky Pringle, the Trump administration and the Department of Education’s decisions are merely a “political stunt” and a mask for a wider agenda to cut funding for public schools and divert those funds to billionaires.

“The politicians and their followers attacking these long-standing and successful programs are looking to create a problem where one doesn’t exist. They want to divide us so we’re not paying attention to their real agenda, which is gutting our community public schools to pay for tax cuts for billionaires,” she said in a news release shared by the National Education Association. “More to the point, it’s astonishing that Trump and his loyalists currently in charge of the Department of Education are creating political stunts like this instead of using precious taxpayer dollars to do the very real work of ensuring opportunity and access. The administration shut down more than 10,000 civil rights investigations as one of their first actions, more than half of which were for students with disabilities. “

She added, “Let’s not let politicians distract us from the real issues facing public schools. We know what’s at stake. That’s why we are coming together—parents, students, and educators—to make sure every child, regardless of race, ZIP code, or family income, has the opportunities and resources they need to live into their brilliance.”
