Jay-Z and Beyoncé are giving back to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with their latest scholarship fund.

After breaking the internet with their Tiffany & Co. ABOUT LOVE campaign, the power couple has recently announced the ABOUT LOVE scholarship.

According to a press release, “Tiffany & Co. pledged USD $2M in scholarship funding for students in the arts and creative fields at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).”

“This opportunity is timely as our students come from many different socioeconomic backgrounds. These funds will have a tremendous on who we recruit and our students’ success as they move on to graduate and professional schools and into their careers,” said Dr. Jack Thomas, the President of Central State University, in a statement.

The scholarship is in partnership with Tiffany & Co., BeyGOOD and the Shawn Carter Foundation.

The press release states a $2 million donation will be distributed among five private and “select state schools” including Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, Norfolk State University in Virginia, Bennett College in North Carolina, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and Central State University in Ohio.

Eligible applicants must qualify for financial aid and be pursuing degrees in creative fields, history or communications. According to a press release, “priority will be given to students facing financial hardships, and the individual awards amounts will be determined based on individual student’s needs.”

“We are only as strong as the work we do together, and we are honored to partner with The Carters,” said Anisa Kamadoli Costa, Chief Sustainability Officer of Tiffany & Co. “Their relentless dedication to lifting underrepresented groups is the inspiration for the About Love Scholarship program.”

The scholarship follows Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s history of supporting the underserved within the Black community with their philanthropic initiatives. Along with the Carters, Tiffany and Co. are committing to “initiatives for HBCUs and other underrepresented communities set to begin in 2022.”

For eligible students from the selected schools, online applications will open on Friday, Sept. 10 and close on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 11:59 PM ET.
