Kai Cenat Reclaims His Title As Twitch’s Most-Subscribed Streamer

Once again, Kai Cenat has broken a Twitch record. As AFROTECH™ previously reported, Cenat is in the midst of “Mafiathon 2,” a 24/7 stream running throughout November 2024. So far, the Twitch stream has featured guests such as Lil Uzi Vert, Snoop Dogg, GloRilla, Quavo, and most recently, Serena Williams. Cenat shared several goals for the stream, including allocating 20% of earnings toward the school he is building in Nigeria. He says the project was inspired by singer and streamer Ironmouse, who previously held the title of the most-subscribed creator on Twitch and also raised funds to support the Immune Deficiency Foundation. “Shout out to Ironmouse, because she inspired me to make sure to give a lot of this bread that’s coming in to a good cause,” Cent explained.   To no one’s surprise, one of Cenat’s goals was to reclaim his title, which was previously taken by Ironmouse on Sept. 30, 2023, with more than 312,000 subscribers, Rolling Stone notes . Eleven days into “Mafiathon 2,”...

Black Women Artists Rewina Beshue and Lalese Stamps Are Featured in Vans' Digital Museum

Vans isn’t just skating through Women’s History Month with performative actions — the brand is providing resources to women-identifying creators. This month, instead of spending its allocated budget on traditional ads, Vans dedicated those resources to creatives — including mixed-media artist Rewina Beshue and ceramicist Lalese Stamp — to actually create inspiring works for a digital museum. The online exhibit showcases drawings, sculptures, music videos, custom shoes, digital animations, and more. “I’m drawn to projects that uplift and shine a light on topics that are important to Black women taking up space in the art world,” said Beshue. “I love using my art and my platform to promote representation and inclusivity. Growing up, there wasn’t much Black representation in the art world, or at least I wasn’t exposed to it. It was hard to find. It’s really important that we use our platforms to promote representation of creative women in the mainstream world.” “I’ve always worn Vans,”...

Photo: Giphy As co-founder of On Second Thought , Maci Peterson has patented a system that allows users to recall and edit their messages in real time. The inspiration came to the 30-year-old entrepreneur three years ago, when she accidentally texted an ex-boyfriend something she later wished she could take back. I mean, who hasn’t been there? In 2014, that inspiration lead Peterson to launch an app used to recall text messages. Now she and her partner are taking it a step further and expanding the technology for use on social networking platforms. In fact, the patented recall system will be made available on all forms of telecommunications. Brilliance! No one deserves a permanent, easily sharable...
