Virginia Union University (VUU) is launching a new transformative initiative that’s pairing tech with generational wealth for its students. According to an announcement, the historically Black university has announced its partnership with Apple as well as a Smart Campus initiative, which will provide its first-year students with a bundle of the tech giant’s products to help them with their studies and prepare them for the workforce. The new initiative — referred to as “Mobile Learning, Mobile Life” — will reportedly start by offering the incoming class of 2025 an iPad Air, Apple Pencil, Smart Keyboard Folio, Apple Watch and AirPods Pro. With February right around the corner, this HBCU alumni created a national family game night to celebrate Black game developers and Black wealth all while focusing on Black history. According to PRWeb, Ruby L. Taylor, MSW is the founder of Legacy! Card Games and the mastermind behind National Family Game Night for Black History Month — an event that attendees can enjoy right from the comforts of their own home. She is a double HBCU alumnus having graduated from both Virginia Union University and Howard University. “It’s my mission to celebrate the history of black wealth and black board and card game developers and do so in a fun, exciting way,” shared Taylor.
