Kevin Hart is one step closer to fulfilling his plant-based dreams. He is readying his first location of Hart House to officially open its doors in the city of Los Angeles, CA, by the end of the month. As previously reported by AfroTech, the restaurant is an entirely plant-based concept that will feature menu items that include burg’rs, chick’n sandwiches, salads, tenders, fries, tots, and milkshakes. According to Thrillist, Cajou Creamery is a plant-based ice cream brand that was created by Chef Dwight Campbell and his wife Nicole Foster who is a public health attorney. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, it’s now the nation’s fastest-growing Black-owned dairy-free ice cream brand which includes exotic flavors like baklava, Mexican cacao, and sweet potato pie. “People hear vegan or plant-based and think ick like they are dirty words,” said Nicole in an interview. “Or a common story we hear is, ‘I haven’t had ice cream in 20 years,’ and we are able to give them that experience. Drake Invests In Plant-Based Chicken Startup Daring Foods' $40M Round

Faux meat is in and Drake wants parts! As the faux meat industry continues to boom, Daring Foods Inc., has managed to raise $40 million from investors just a little over a year after its plant-based chicken debuted last year, reports Bloomberg Green. The series B funding round was led by D1 Capital Partners along with existing investors such as Palm Tree Crew and Maveron. Amongst the investors includes Drake, who has mentioned that he’s a vegetarian adding him to the list of growing celebs that are backing faux meat like fellow rapper Jay-Z and tennis superstar Serena Williams. These Founders Sold $250K Worth Of Vegan Burgers Online Within One Day After Securing A 'Shark Tank' Deal

After pitching their plant-based burger brand on season 12 of ABC’s “Shark Tank,” the founders of Everything Legendary lived up to their name. According to Black Enterprise, within 24 hours of the episode’s release, the brand landed a deal with Mark Cuban and sold $250,000 worth of burgers online. “This is a vegan, flavorful movement that we’re starting right now. And we’re revolutionizing the entire industry,” said Duane “Myko” Cheers, co-founder of Everything Legendary, in an interview with Live Kindly. “I believe that our product is better. You guys heard it on Shark Tank.
