Virtual reality gaming just hit a new level courtesy of StatusPRO. In a previous interview with AfroTech, StatusPRO founders Andrew “Hawk” Hawkins and Troy Jones explained their plans to combine augmented reality and virtual reality (VR) to enhance the sports industry as we know it. Now, it looks like they are here to deliver. According to a press release, the former football players have officially inked a deal to create the first VR NFL-licensed football game. “We are a company that wants to democratize what it is like to be an athlete. Colin Kaepernick Returns to Madden’s Virtual Field For the First Time Since 2016

It looks like gaming giant EA SPORTS is welcoming former San Francisco 49ers quarterback and activist Colin Kaepernick back to the field. Kap has returned to the game after four years of riding the sidelines both virtually and IRL. Though he hasn’t made his comeback to the real-life NFL field, he is now the top free-agent quarterback in Madden 21, with an 81 overall rating, The Undefeated reports . “Knowing that our EA SPORTS experiences are platforms for players to create, we want to make Madden NFL a place that reflects Colin’s position and talent, rates him as a starting QB, and empowers our fans to express their hopes for the future of football,” EA said in a statement Tuesday (Sept. 8). “We’ve worked with Colin to make this possible, and we’re excited to bring it to all of you today.” Kap became an NFL free agent after the 2016 season.
