Rare Kobe Bryant Photos Are Selling As NFTs To Benefit The Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation

On the day that has been officially marked and commemorated as “Kobe Bryant Day,” never-before-seen photos of the late NBA legend are selling as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to benefit his youth sports foundation. According to Bleacher Report, an auction run by Cryptograph — a platform that sells rare digital collectibles from public figures and artists for charity — is launching a collection that includes eight photos of the Los Angeles Lakers icon. Proceeds from sales will go toward the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. Bryant’s nonprofit foundation was formed to fund sports programs in overlooked communities and create a “positive impact for underserved athletes and young women in sports,” according to its website. The organization was founded through the vision and memory of Bryant and his late daughter, Gianna. North Carolina A&T State University Raises $88M For Record-Breaking Year Of Fundraising

The nation’s largest Historically Black College and University (HBCU) just set an all-time record for fundraising. According to NPR, North Carolina A&T State University (N.C. A&T) has raised $88 million since its fiscal year began last summer, which is nearly six times what the university normally fundraises annually, and it’s not even over yet. The university’s new fundraising brings its total to $181.4 million, completing its eight-year campaign, according to an announcement from administrators. Including its endowment, N.C. A&T’s assets are also now listed at $153 million, making it the most of any public HBCU ever. “There has not been a year like that ever in our history,” Todd Simmons — N.C. Spelman College Launches $250M Campaign to Invest in More Tech and Innovation Initiatives

Spelman College launched a $250 million campaign to invest in endowed professionals, scholarships and innovation initiatives, a press release states. The campaign coined Spelman Ascends is the largest of its kind that the educational institution has led. In the last three years, donors have made gifts to Spelman amounting to $240 million. Spelman is looking to raise $250 million total by 2024 and the college is on track to achieving their goal. “Our ability to surround our students with committed faculty, a challenging yet loving environment and a rigorous innovative academic experience is a direct result of our dedicated community of supporters,” said Spelman President Mary Schmidt Campbell in a statement. Social Game Developer Zynga Donates $100K to Girls Who Code to Help Build the Next Generation of Women in STEAM

In honor of International Women’s Day 2021, Zynga is donating $100,000 to support Girls Who Code. Founded in 2007, Zynga is the developer of social games. According to a press release, the $100,000 comes from the company’s $25 million Social Impact Fund, a fund Zynga launched last summer to invest in educational and charitable causes focused on diversity, equity and inclusion. Girls Who Code is a national nonprofit that supports young girls from third grade and beyond that are interested in pursing careers in technology, specifically in computer science. Nearly 50 percent of the girls that the nonprofit services are Black, Latinx or from low income communities. Michael Jordan Donates $10M to Open Additional Medical Clinics in His Hometown

NBA legend, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Michael Jordan is giving back in a big way to further help his hometown of Wilmington, NC improve its healthcare system. According to a press release, Jordan has donated a generous $10 million to regional healthcare system Novant Health to aid in building two new medical clinics set to open in early 2022.
