A Look At The Life, Career And Accomplishments Of Fashion Legend André Leon Talley

On Jan. 18, 2022, André Leon Talley passed away from a heart attack due to COVID-19 complications. The seminal, groundbreaking Vogue editor was only 73-years-old when he passed away in White Plains, NY, according to The Cut. Talley was no stranger to controversy, and made headlines when he detailed how his relationship with Vogue capo Anna Wintour became fractured in his recent memoir, “The Chiffon Diaries.” Perhaps that’s why the magazine was the last to report on his passing — a fact which did not go unnoticed by critics. This is what Vogue thought was appropriate to tweet 30 mins after the death of beloved fashion legend and former Vogue Creative Director and Editor-at-Large Andre Leon Talley was announced to have passed. Quelle coincidence. Interestingly tasteless as per usual. pic.twitter.com/OSvAYUzSxd — Beguiling Bini Baddie (@Aizehinomo) January 19, 2022 https://twitter.com/rgay/status/1483716464821428230?s=20 …let @voguemagazine ’s continued silence on the death of its...

Joe Freshgoods' Latest New Balance Collection Captures Chicago's Black Entrepreneurial Spirit

Designer and Creative Director Joe “Freshgoods” Robinson has made a name for his Chicago-based streetwear brand by building authenticity within fashion. Over the years, the self-made entrepreneur has become the people’s champ when it comes to combining the essence of his local community with a culturally-significant message, and his latest collaboration with New Balance is no different. The “Outside Clothes” collection is described as bringing back the nostalgia of playing outside during our childhood, but it’s also a nod to Robinson’s creative process and the privilege we lost of actually being outside on account of the pandemic last year. The phrase “We miss when outside was outside” is used on some of the pieces from the new collection. It is a statement that Robinson believes to be a true sentiment for many people at this time. Photo courtesy of Joe Freshgoods “I didn’t realize until last year how much the act of being outside had played a major part in my career,” he said in a...

Nicki Minaj Posting Her Pink Crocs Reportedly Caused A 4,900% Spike In Sales

Rap icon Nicki Minaj has once again used her worldwide influence to break the internet. This week, Minaj — who’s also dropping new music on Friday — made her grand return to Instagram after a four-month hiatus to show off in a post wearing nothing but her pink Crocs blinged out with bedazzled Jibbitz and Chanel-jewels. Nicki Minaj also posed for the photo using only two pink heart-shaped pillows to cover herself, while sporting several diamond necklaces, bracelets and anklets in a decked-out all-pink office. While it’s unclear if Minaj will be formally partnering with Crocs in the future, her single post still shook fans to their cores as they scoured the internet to find the now almost sold-out pair of shoes. According to Google Trends, “pink Crocs” and “Nicki Minaj Crocs” became the breakout searches of the internet, and fans reportedly crashed the retailer’s website with their searches as well.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Barbie (@nickiminaj) Minaj’s...
