Coco Gauff, the American tennis player and two-time Grand Slam champion, remains a leading figure in sports and business in 2025. For the third consecutive year, she has been recognized as the highest-paid female athlete, according to Sportico.
Gauff, who won her second Grand Slam in women’s singles during this year’s French Open, tops the 2025 ranking with an estimated $31 million in total earnings, ahead of rival tennis player Aryna Sabalenka, who earned $30 million. She is also one of only four women to surpass $30 million in a single year, named alongside Sabalenka, Naomi Osaka, and Serena Williams, per the outlet.
The annual list reflects continued growth in women’s sports. All 15 athletes on the list, which included Caitlin Clark, Osaka, Simone Biles, and Venus Williams, earned at least $10 million, compared to 11 in 2024 and six in 2023, notes Sportico. Tennis continues to dominate, with 10 of the top 15 earners coming from the sport.
As the outlet notes, Gauff’s total earnings include $8 million in prize money. Off the court, she earned $23 million from endorsements, a key factor in her ranking as the highest-paid female athlete in 2025.
Beyond her on-court earnings, Gauff has expanded her influence through business ventures. In April 2025, she launched Coco Gauff Enterprises with WME (William Morris Endeavor), following her departure from Team8, the agency co-founded by Roger Federer, notes the outlet.
In an Instagram post announcing the venture, Gauff wrote, “From the moment I first picked up a tennis racket, I’ve always believed my purpose extended far beyond the court. Today, I’m thrilled to announce CoCo Gauff Enterprises, a venture that reflects my passion for making an impact — not just in tennis, but in business, philanthropy, and beyond.”
Gauff also partners with more than a dozen brands, including New Balance, Miu Miu, Rolex, Bose, Chase Bank, Baker Tilly, and Head. According to Sportico, her deal with New Balance, first signed when she was 14 and renewed in 2022, remains her largest. In 2025, she collaborated with New Balance and Miu Miu on a tennis-inspired apparel collection.
Shortly after the release of the highest-paid female athlete 2025 list, Gauff was named a global brand ambassador for Mercedes-Benz, Tennis.com reports. The automaker shared the announcement on social media, featuring Gauff alongside a Mercedes sedan, and said it was proud to welcome her to its ambassador program.
In addition to endorsements, Gauff invested in Unrivaled, a women’s basketball startup league, as AFROTECH™ previously reported. She said at the time, “I’m thrilled to be joining Unrivaled as an investor. Basketball is one of my favorite sports, and the chance to support a league that’s redefining the game is exciting. I look forward to being part of this movement and helping elevate women’s sports.”
