Cam Newton is taking his production company to new heights.
Founded in 2012, Iconic Saga is a dynamic production company that collaborates with a wide range of clients and brands, delivering non-scripted digital content, scripted series, children’s programming, and animation, according to its LinkedIn profile. The company has worked with prominent names like Nickelodeon, Facebook, and ESPN. Per Boardroom, Newton is strategically aligning all of his creative ventures under the Saga umbrella, including his web series “Funky Friday” and “4th & 1.”
“Media is at a very interesting space right now because you have people who are gaining more validation by being able to speak on certain topics, as opposed to the days where somebody can just voice their opinion and say, ‘Okay, boom. That’s the show.’ Well, in this day and age, it is being able to be authentic to what you’re talking about and how you’re talking about it. And we’re seeing more and more creatives or creators create stories, storylines, and content that’s true to them,” Newton explained, according to Boardroom.
Newton’s work through Iconic Saga is receiving a boost. According to Sports Business Journal, a deal surrounding ad sales, sponsorship, and monetization with Blue Wire has been extended. Just last year, “Funky Friday” and “4th & 1” joined the Blue Wire network.
The announcement aligns with Newton’s vision to establish long-term relationships.
“Rather than approaching sponsorships as one-time transactional sales, we take a linear approach that centers on understanding the sponsor’s goals and aligning their brand with our tone and audience,” Newton said, per Sports Business Journal.
Furthermore, Iconic Saga will be operating out of a new home in light of Newton launching a 27,000-square-foot content studio set to break ground in 2025. The studio will be used for production and will have a gaming room and business offices. It will also serve as a home base for his NJC Ventures, which includes Iconic Saga productions within its portfolio. To complete the studio, Bob The Builder ATL was hired as the general contractor, Posh Monette Creations for set design, and Wavelength Lighting to oversee set lighting design.
“We’re focused on Atlanta being the place where we can stand out,” Blue Wire CEO Kevin Jones expressed, per Sports Business Journal. “We’re really strong business partners with [Newton], so we’re excited to now have a tentpole place.”
