Angela's Cakes
“Angela’s Cakes, a vegan funnel cake dessert, was born into hip-hop royalty and founded by designer, entrepreneur, vegan, and fitness enthusiast Angela Simmons,” reads the official website.
“Operated as a partner through Slutty Vegan and Pinky Cole, Angela’s Cakes is a fun childhood nostalgic dessert that reimagines Simmons love of pastries,” the statement continued.
Something For The Vegans
It looks like Angela is tapped in with the right team.
Earlier this year, Pinky Cole’s 4-year-old Slutty Vegan brand was valued at $100 million following a $25 million Series A funding round.

Now, they are helping Angela bring sweet treats to vegans.
“Simmons, a vegan foodie with a sweet tooth, wanted to create a unique experience for vegans with junk food cravings with her favorite dessert matched with various over-the-top funnel cake toppings,” said the site.
Hip-Hop Royalty
As previously reported by AfroTech, Angela may be a child of Hip-Hop royalty as the daughter of Rev. Run, a member of the iconic group Run DMC.
However, she holds her weight on her own. The millennial mother first began her entrepreneurial quest alongside her sister Vanessa with their Pastry shoe line.
Not only is she the co-owner of Pastry alongside her older sister, but the young multi-hyphenate is also the owner of her Simmons Beauty skincare brand launched in 2020, at the height of the pandemic.
Now, Angela continues to turn her love for delicious desserts into potential money moves.
